Innovative Home Design for the Pedro Lira House in Santiago, Chile

The Pedro Lira House in Santiago, Chile is functional contemporary architecture at its best. Designed by architect Sebastian Irarrazaval, this futuristic design is unique, but not out of reach, thanks to the use of common building elements like concrete, timber and glass. Rather, this home’s true innovation comes in the way these elements are compiled. The imaginative angles that define this design come via ramps and stairs, leading from a parking garage, around the perimeter of the house and up to a rooftop deck. The industrial feel of the concrete construction makes its way indoors, where thoughtfully placed pillars seem to hold up the high ceilings, ultramodern skylights and walls of windows.
