A Mix of Wood and Glass: Casa Vale Do Lobo by Arqui+Arquitectura

Arqui+ Architecture have completed the design of a new house in Vale Do Lobo, Portugal. Found on homedsgn, this high-end 6,450 square foot residence and its incredible cantilevered infinity swimming pool.

We picked this house because we were struck by the swimming pool, the property’s real beauty! Vale do Lobo is a golf resort located in the Algarve region of Southern Portugal and it was realized by Architect Vasco Vieira, principal of Arqui+ Arquitectura. As you can easily notice from the pictures below, the swimming pool has a spectacular location and the concrete that holds the water is risen from the ground, acting as a waterfall to the shallow pond underneath. That’s a quite out of the ordinary design, because we are used to have the swimming pool near a terrace connected with the living room, on the first level of the house. Another thing that may inspire other architects too is the solution Arqui+ Arquitectura Studio found for a ‘U’ shape site: one side being the home, and, on the other a wooded deck to relax on and the infinity pool.
