Meta-Studio [Jakarta, Hong-Kong] Just sent us one of their sweet small scale projects located in Jakarta, Indonesia to be showcased in DesignDaily Network.
Studio Meta-, Hong Kong based architecture practice, was commissioned to design a new space for John Robert Powers in Indonesia. Located in the North of Jakarta, JRP’s Kelapa Gading branch proposed a new identity and a fresh atmosphere to re-animate its role as an institution specialized in acting and modelling in Indonesia. The space organisation is inspired by sliding boxes with different colour for each box.
As the institution places itself in the office space with a tight area, the space is arranged in the most efficient way and as open-space as possible. With programmes provided, it was almost not possible to allow empty space quality. We selected what could be open space programme to be placed in the middle. The most interesting yet operable is the catwalk space, not only it is unique but also connecting the two corridor wings to create bigger space for other occasion. The different colour identifies each room according to its function. The freshness starts from the entrance door by introducing the wavy random wooden boxes celebration on the reception desk. The bright wood colour is contrasted by the dark back wall. To introduce an interesting waiting room, the pattern continues to create a feature wall with racks composition.
