Contemporary Cliff-Top Cabin in Buchupureo, Chile

Overlooking the Chilean coast in the central-south region of Buchupureo, this contemporary cliff-top cabin was designed to coordinate with the environment both via materials used as well as the breathtaking views. Designed by owners and architects Alvaro Ramirez and Clarisa Elton, this modern home is perched on exposed stilts while provide a unique shape to the home while reducing environmental impact through minimal excavation, and also allowing for the free flow of water beneath the structure. The facade and interiors are all constructed using local, moisture-protected wood, while the roof is covered in laja stone. Inside, the home is divided into a trio of functional and fashionable spaces – a luxurious bedroom with ensuite; a spacious entertaining area complete with a kitchen; and an awesome terrace hanging over the South Pacific.
