Mixed Use tower/ DOS architects - China

DOS architects just shared with DesignDaily that their entry for the Mixed Use development in Beijing (China) has just been announced as winner of the International design competition.

Here is the description from the architects;

DOS architects were invited to take part in the competition setup by the site’s promoter, GWA (Grow Wealth Assets) in March this year alongside 4 other European Architecture firms, all of which were asked to produce a “Unique and Iconic building” for the site. Their ambitious proposal, which could be described as a “Cantilevering courtyard tower”, is located in the Lize Financial Business District, in the North East of China’s capital city and will be the first project for DOS architects in China.

The development will comprise 219,000 sqm of Mixed-use space including a hotel, office space, retail and residential units and is set to begin in early 2014 and due for completion in 2017.

The Competition’s promoter said:“Grow Wealth Assets is an international asset management firm that has a strong history of operating in the real estate sector. We have a strong presence in countries including China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia. In recent years, the company has begun expanding its operations into European countries such as Cyprus and more recently Italy. The development that is to be built based upon the winning design of this competition represents a typical investment of Grow Wealth Assets. Located in the heart of Lize Financial Business District, the building will be an opportunity for DOS architects to show case their innovation to both the local and international business community”
